What does Menus Uncomplicated do?

It turns your existing Shopify navigation menus into a multi-level dropdown (or mega-menu style) that appears when customers hover or click on a top-level menu item. Customers see the categories and sub-categories grouped together, with product counts where applicable, so they can jump straight to what they want.

Do I need to build a separate menu structure?

No. The app reads the standard Shopify Menus you already maintain in the admin. Change a menu, and the rendered navigation follows - there is nothing extra to duplicate.

How many levels deep can the menu go?

The Shopify Menus admin interface lets you nest items up to 3 levels deep. Menus Uncomplicated supports that natively, and also supports deeper structures via legacy nesting (creating a menu item whose name matches another menu) - see the Help page for details on going past 3 levels.

Does it require code or theme changes?

No. Menus Uncomplicated installs as a Shopify Theme App Extension that you place through the Theme Editor. There is no HTML, CSS or Liquid to write, and styling (colours, fonts) is controlled by tick-box settings in the editor.

Is it mobile-friendly?

Yes. The menu adapts to small screens - on mobile, sub-categories open on click rather than hover, and the layout reflows so customers can browse the same structure on a phone.

Which themes are supported?

The app works with most modern Online Store 2.0 themes via the Theme Editor. A small number of heavily customised themes that override navigation in unusual ways may need theme-side tweaks - if you hit a compatibility issue, contact us via the Contact page and we will take a look.

Is it multilingual?

Yes, in two distinct ways. The app’s own admin interface is currently in English only. Separately, the menu rendered on your storefront uses your Shopify menu items directly, so it follows whichever languages your store supports through Shopify Translate & Adapt - a Japanese, Polish or any other store gets a fully localized menu, even though the app’s admin interface itself ships only in English.
