What does ShopyCopySync do?

It copies content from one Shopify store to another, on demand. One store acts as the source (where content is created) and the other as the target (where the duplicate lives). Useful for spinning up a second store fast, keeping a sandbox in step with production, or migrating to a new store while preserving content history.

What content types can I sync?

Products, collections (including smart-collection rules), pages, blogs and articles, navigation menus, metaobject definitions and metaobjects. Content is synced in dependency order, so products are created before the collections that reference them, and menus are linked to the correct synced items automatically.

Do I need to install the app on both stores?

Yes. The source store creates and runs the sync, and the target store explicitly approves it before any content is copied. Both stores need the app installed so the consent and progress interfaces work on both sides.

Does the target store have to approve every sync?

The target store approves each sync request once during setup. If you later change the content types or the conflict strategy, the sync returns to Pending approval so the target store owner can review and re-approve the change. Either side can end the sync at any time.

What’s the difference between Skip and Overwrite?

Skip leaves existing target-store content untouched and only creates new items - safest when the target store has its own customisations. Overwrite updates existing target items to match the source - use this when the source store is the single source of truth.

Can I undo a sync?

Yes. The target store can Reset synced content, which rolls back the items that were created or modified by the sync. The source store can also delete the sync entirely. Reversibility is built in by design.

Can I cancel a sync that’s already running?

Yes. While a sync is running, the sync details page shows real-time progress and a Cancel button. Cancelling stops the current run; you can restart from the beginning by clicking Sync now again.

Is it multilingual?

Yes, in two distinct ways. The app’s own admin interface (settings, labels, instructions) is available in English, Spanish, German and French. Separately, the content it copies between stores keeps its own language and metafields intact - so if your source store is in Japanese, Polish or any other language, the synced content arrives in the target store in that same language, even though the app’s admin interface itself only ships in the four languages above.

How do I get it on my Shopify store?

Install it from the Shopify App Store - see the App Store listing for current pricing, plans and trial details, and to add it to your store with one click.
